The Faces Behind Dalal
Driven by hospitality · Rooted in Yemeni tradition
Dalal reflects the Arabic tradition of attentive hospitality and care. Named after a Yemeni highland district where our family cultivated coffee across generations, we continue that legacy through origin-driven coffees managed under defined production standards.
A Legacy of the High Terraces
Dalal Coffee draws its name from a place of profound significance: Dalal, a highland district within Baʿdan in Ibb, Yemen. Soaring over 2,000 meters above sea level, Dalal is renowned for its fertile, stone-lined terraces that have sustained farming families for centuries. Here, amidst mountains sculpted by generations of hands, coffee has long been intrinsically woven into both the land and its culture.
For our family, Dalal is more than just a name; it is home. It is the cherished birthplace of both my father and grandfather, where my grandfather once cultivated coffee on these very terraces. While our coffee today is responsibly sourced from across Yemen, this enduring legacy imbues Dalal Coffee with its soul: a vital bridge connecting our family's deep roots to the timeless narrative of Yemeni coffee.
Every cup of Dalal Coffee stands as a tribute to this profound legacy: to the breathtaking highland terraces of Dalal, to the dedicated families who tended them, and to the timeless, masterful craft of Yemeni coffee.
